PINEVILLE - The Mississippi College Choctaws were a little too much for the Louisiana College men's tennis team, downing the Wildcats 9-0 in LC's home closer.
The Wildcats were led by Michael Sumner (Baton Rouge, La./Louisiana School for Math, Science and Arts), whose 6-2, 6-0 loss to Jerrod Rayburn stood as LC's top performance of the day.
Sumner and Ryan Meadows later lost 8-0 to Rayburn and Jacob Womack in doubles action.
Other singles results were: Patrick Stanton defeated Nathan Boles 6-0 and 6-0, Cory Seay defeated Josh Vickery 6-0 and 6-0, Womack defeated Cliff Magee 6-0 and 6-0, Jonathan Wilmingham defeated Meadows 6-0 and 6-0 and Matt Mitchell defeated Josh Engen 7-1.
In doubles, Stanton and Seay defeated Magee and Boles 8-0 and Thibodeaux and Layton defeated Vickery and Engen 8-1.
