RICHARDSON, Texas –– The American Southwest Conference has recognized 86 student-athletes as Academic All-Conference award recipients in men's and women's basketball for the 2009-10 season, the league office announced on Monday (March 15).
Among the honorees were five Louisiana College basketball players, two men and three women.
Troy Folse (Moss Bluff, La/ Sam Houston High/Economics and Finance major) and Jeremy Hollier (Ragley, La./Merryville High/Health and P.E. major) were honored on the men's team while Joanna Tate (Holden, La./Holdne High/Health and P.E. major), Roslyn Wilmer (Marksville, La./Marksville High/Undecided) and Janet Butler (Calhoun, La./West Ouachita High/Health and P.E. major) were honored on the women's team.
To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered in the 2009-10 season, be in at least the second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or better.
