PINEVILLE - Junior post player Tillisha Givens (Monroe, La/Ouachita Parish High) was named Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, beating out athletes from all of Louisiana's Division I schools to do so.
Givens, who last week helped lead the Lady Cats to their first ever American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship and first ever berth in the NCAA Division III tournament, was a house on fire for LC through its three conference tournament games scoring a total of 52 points, pulling down 29 rebounds, making six steals, dishing out 2 assists and committing just eight turnovers.
Givens, who was named ASC Tournament MVP, scored in double figures in all three games and posted two double-doubles.
This marks the first time this season that the Lady Cats, now 24-2, have had a player named LSWA Player of the Week.
