Friday, Feb. 26 (Quarterfinal Round)

Noon - Mary Hardin-Baylor (ASC West No. 1, 20-5 overall record)  vs. ETBU (East No. 12-13)
Final - Mary Hardin-Baylor - 58, ETBU - 26
Box Score
Mary Hardin-Baylor won their quarterfinal match-up 58-26 over the Lady Tigers of East Texas Baptist University. The Lady Cru opened up an early twenty-point lead, as ETBU scored just four points in the first fifteen minutes of play, while turning the ball over 14 times. Though the 4th seed in the East Division showed more life coming out of the break, the Lady Crusaders showed why they earned the top spot in the West Division as they continued to bury their opponents with stifling defense, sharp shooting and dominating interior play.
Lindsay Eaton led the way for Mary Hardin-Baylor with 17 points, shooting 7-13 from the floor. Stacie Stephens grabbed eight rebounds and went 3-4 from three-point land, as the Lady Cru went on to shoot 7-14 from long range.
ETBU's Karlee Wilson led all players with 13 rebounds, but the Lady Tigers shot just 18% from the field and were 1-17 from behind the three-point line.

2:30 p.m. - Texas-Dallas (East No. 2, 19-6)  vs. McMurry (West No. 3, 16-9)
Final - McMurry - 63, UTDallas - 54
Box Score
Third ranked McMurry University assured that one half of the bracket would be an all-West Division affair when they defeated the East's second seed University of Texas-Dallas by a score of 63-54.
McMurry led by five points at halftime, but Texas-Dallas came out of the break and tied the game with a 7-2 run. The second half went back and forth before McMurry opened up an eight point lead as the clock wound down. The Lady Comets of Texas-Dallas pulled to within 3 points at 55-52, but were unable to get a stop with less than two minutes to play. Rikeita Thomas (15 points) hit several big shots down the stretch for McMurry to seal the win.
Anna Berthel had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead McMurry, who had four scorers in double-digits and five players grab six or more boards. The victors shot 4-6 from three-point land and 45% from the field.
Rachel Addison had 18 points for the Lady Comets in the loss, and also grabbed seven rebounds. Chelsea Edwards added 11 points and four assists for Texas-Dallas.

5 p.m. - Howard Payne (West No. 2, 20-5)  vs. Mississippi College (East No. 3. 19-6)
Final - Howard Payne - 73, Mississippi College - 68
Box Score

Howard Payne made it 3-3 for Western Division teams in the third semifinal on Friday afternoon. The Lady Yellow Jackets defeated the Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College 73-68 to earn a spot in Saturday's semi-finals.
After a close first half, it looked as though Howard Payne would run away with the game when they opened up a ten point lead at 50-40 midway through the second half. The lead would swell to twelve before MC came roaring back, led by the inside play of Jennifer Wair and Jalessa Taylor. Wair led all scorers with 26 points, while Taylor scored 19 points and totaled 11 rebounds.
The Lady Choctaws could not shut down the offensive production that Howard Payne got from big Hope Hoertz (19 points) and point guard Brittany Zamora (21 points, including 3-7 from the three-point line). This tandem allowed Howard Payne to fly out of the gate in the second half and build their lead to double-digits and to answer late in the game when Mississippi College would not go away.

7:30 p.m. - Louisiana College (East No. 1, 21-2) vs. Hardin-Simmons (West No. 4, 15-10)
Final - Louisiana College - 72, Hardin-Simmons - 69

Saturday Feb. 27 (Semfinals)

2 p.m. -  Mary Hardin-Baylor vs. McMurry
Box Score
Final - McMurry 49, UMHB 47

It was close all the way when the No. 1 and No. 3 ASC West teams clashed in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Women's Basketball Championship Tournament and in the end, No. 3 McMurry was one basket better than the West champs, downing UMHB 49-47.
Neither team shot particularly well in the game with McMurry hitting on just 33.3 percent of its field goal attempts and Mary Hardin-Baylor 24.6 percent.
Yet, even with points at a premium, UMHB's Jessica Kelly was able to have a stellar performance, albeit in a losing effort, putting up a game high 20 points and snagging nine rebounds.
Unfortunately for the Lady Cru, no other player reached double figures on the night.
McMurry, also had just one player in double figures, Anna Berthel with 10 points, but received nine points apiece from Rikeita Thomas and LaPorsha Alexander.
