PINEVILLE, La. – The schedule for the 2010 football season has been announced by the American Southwest Conference, and Louisiana College will again face in consecutive contests the schools that beat them in three straight weeks this past season.
The Wildcats, who will be looking to better a 7-3 record, will open the season at new test Belhaven on Sept. 4. The home season starts a week later on Sept. 11, as LC will host non-conference Huntingdon College, who beat them by 13 points in 2009.
LC must then play at rival Mississippi College (Sept. 25) on the other side of an open week, as American Southwest Conference play begins. The traveling Wildcats will look to avenge a 54-44 home shootout loss at the hands of the Choctaws a year ago.
On Oct. 2, the Wildcats have a home date with national power Mary Hardin-Baylor, who handed the Wildcats their third loss last season by a 54-20 drubbing.
LC will also have to travel to Marshall, Texas, to play rival East Texas Baptist University (Oct. 9), who the Wildcats beat handily in Pineville this past campaign.
Louisiana College will also host Texas Lutheran on Oct. 30, sandwiched by trips to Texas to play at Sul Ross (Oct. 23) and McMurry (Nov. 6).
The homecoming game next season will be on Oct. 18 with the Wildcats taking on Howard Payne, a team which the Wildcats downed in dramatic fashion in a triple-overtime contest last year.
They will finish their season off at home against Hardin-Simmons, who they stunned 28-7 last year despite the Cowboys' national ranking, for Senior Day (Nov. 13).
All game times are yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date.
