PINEVILLE, La. - Last week, Louisiana College pitcher Greg Uzee (New Orleans, LA/Shaw HS) was named to the Clark Griffith Baseball League All-Star Team. Uzee, who will be a junior next season, is having a phenomenal season. He has a perfect 4-0 record, leads the legue in strikeouts with 36, ranks fourth in ERA (1.45), and is third in opponents batting average (.204). The Clark Griffith Baseball League is a wooden bat collegiate summer baseball league. Among the famous alumni of the legue are current major leaguers Mark Teixeira (Yankees), Jonathan Papelbon (Red Sox), and John Maine (Mets) and current Washington Nationals manager Jim Riggleman.
The game matched the Clark Griffith League against the Maryland Collegiate Legue All-Stars. The CGL won the game 10-6.
