Louisiana College softball coach Tim Whitman has announced the hiring of Andria Waguespack and Danielle Price as assistant coaches on his staff. Both coaches are coming from St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette and bring impressive resumes to the Pineville campus. Waguespack was the head coach at STM, and Price served as her assistant. "We are very fortunate to be able to hire two coaches of this caliber," said Whitman. "Both will bring great knowledge, work ethic, and success to our program," added Whitman.

Since 2002, Waguespack has been the head softball coach at St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Duing her nine seasons at St. Thomas More, Waugespack guided her teams to two state championships (Class 5A in 2009 and Class 4A in 2007), seven district championships, and an overall record of 222-55. Also Waguespack was named District Coach of the Year seven times and the Class 4A Louisiana State Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2007. In 2009, Waguespack was named the Class 5A Louisiana State Coach of the Year. She was selected to coach the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association All-Star game in 2007.

Waguespack coached at Montreat College between 2000 and 2002. In 2001, she helped Motreat to a conference championship, regional championship, and the national championship tournament.

From 1998-2001, Price served as the head coach at South Terrebonne high school. From 2001-2004, she served as the assistant head coach at Vandebilt Catholic High School. In 2006, Price made the move to St. Thomas More High School, serving as an assistant until 2009.

As a head coach, Price had an overall record of 91-24 and was named District and Regional Coach of the Year three times. Price also served as a head volleyball coach while coaching in high school, going 62-31.

"Both of these coaches know the game of softball.  They will also help us with recruiting because of their ties in Louisiana high school softball," added Whitman.  "I'm very excited to bring both of them into the LC softball program."
