Uzee Named Pitcher of the Week in Clark Griffith Baseball League
PINEVILLE, La. - During the summer, many collegiate baseball players refine their skills at different collegiate summer leagues throughout the United States. LC right handed pitcher Greg Uzee is no exception. Uzee has taken his talents to the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League in Virginia. For his efforts last week, Uzee was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.
Uzee (New Orleans, LA/Shaw HS), who plays for the Vienna Senators, threw 10 innings, all in relief. He didn't allow run, struck out 19, and walked only four. Batters collected only five hits off him. The players from the five team league consist of mostly players from NCAA Division I teams. Among many of the former players of the league that have been drafted, famous alumni of the league include Mark Texeira, Jonathan Paplebon, John Maine, and Chad Ogea.
Uzee will be a junior for the Wildcats next season.
