MARSHALL, Texas - Friday afternoon at Taylor Field, ETBU made a run that they scored in the bottom of the first stand up in a 1-0 win over Louisiana College at the NCAA West Regional.  The loss pushes LC to the loser's bracket where they will face La Verene, who they beat 4-3 yesterday, at 7:30 p.m. this evening.  Click on the links above to listen to the LC/La Verne game or follow it vial live stats.

ETBU (39-7) took advantage of a shaky start by LC starter McCaslin Carson (15-4) to push across one run in the bottom of the first inning.  ETBU's run came via a Meghan Fisher RBI single.  The single scored Adrienne Meier, who had reached on a fielder's choice, but moved to second on a wild pitch.  After that, Carson settled down and didn't allow another Lady Tiger run to score.

In the meantime, ETBU pitcher Ayrika Henderson kept LC (37-8) in check.  In the sixth and seventh, LC threatened against Hendeson, but she buckled down and didn't allow a run.  In the sixth, Henderson wiggled out of a bases loaded, no out, jam.  She was aided by a centerfield-to-catcher double play in which Jodi Montagnino was thrown out at the plate trying to score on an Ashleigh Clement fly ball.  In the seventh, LC got a runner to third with one out, but couldn't score her as Henderson enticed a foul flyout and a strikeout to end the game.
