Softball Earns Second Seed in West Regional
PINEVILLE, La. - The LC softball team found out Monday morning that they have been selected to their fifth straight NCAA Tournament. The Lady Wildcats, who were an at-large pick, will be headed to ASC rival East Texas Baptist for the West Regional. LC earned the second seed in the regional and will face La Verne in their first game. Check back later for more information including game times and a full bracket.
The Seven Team Regional Includes:
- Linfield (36-4, Northwest Conference Champions, Currently Ranked #1 Nationally, #1 Seed)
- East Texas Baptist (37-7, ASC East Champions, #3 Seed, At-large bid, Currently Ranked #2 Nationally)
- Redlands (30-10, SCIAC Champions, #4 Seed, Currently Ranked #25 Nationally)
- Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (28-14, #6 Seed, At-large bid)
- LC (36-7, #2 Seed, At-large bid, Currently Ranked #11 Nationally, #2 Seed)
- Texas-Tyler (34-8, ASC Champions, Currently Ranked 14th Nationally, #5 Seed)
- La Verne (28-15, At-large bid, #7 Seed)

- Linfield won the 2007 National Championship.
- This Regional features more Top 25 teams than any of the others.
- Of LC, ETBU, and Tyler' combined 22 losses, 15 came to each other.
- Linfield is the only team that is not from the American Southwest Conference or the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
- LC finished third at last year's World Series.
- LC, Linfield, ETBU, and Tyler have all spent time ranked number one nationally.
- This regional features six of the seven same teams that last year's West Regional featured. ETBU is the only different team that is in and Chapman is the only team that was in last year that is not in this year.
