Schwartzenburg Named All-American
PINEVILLE, La. - For the second year in a row an LC softball player has earned All-American honors. Sophomore pitcher Rene' Schwartzenburg (Marksville, LA/MHS) has been named a Third Team All-American by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association).
Schwartzenburg went unbeaten through the year. She finished 14-0 with a 0.53 ERA. For her career, Schwartzenburg is 30-1, with her only loss coming to 2008 national champion, Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This season, she struck out 150 batters in just 106.0 innings pitched.
Here ERA currently ranks third nationally. Also, she ranks seventh nationally in strikouts per nine innings and hits allowed per seven innings, allowing just over three hits per seven innings.
