McLaughlin named ASC Offensive Player of the Week
PINEVILLE – Tying a school record for passing touchdowns got Louisiana College more than just recognition from within the Wildcat football program.
As of Monday, McLaughlin, a junior quarterback from Dierks, Ark., became the American Southwest Conference Offensive player of the week.
On Saturday, McLaughlin threw for six touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 42-3 road win over Texas Lutheran. McLaughlin was 19-for-27 for 313 yards and connected with four different receivers in the end zone. His six TDs were a single-game high this season and just one shy of tying the all-time conference record.
Also honored this week by the ASC were Co-Defensive Players of the Week Brett Parker (cornerback, Mary Hardin-Baylor) and Jonathan Wise (cornerback, Hardin-Simmons) as well as Special Teams Player of the Week Austin Divinity )return specialist, Mississippi College).
