SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana College men’s and women’s soccer teams both made strong showings but came up short in non-conference play Saturday in north Louisiana.
The Lady Cats continued their trend of fighting through games despite having inferior numbers to opposing teams in a 4-0 loss to LSU-Shreveport while the men’s team came out on the wrong side of a 3-0 loss to the Pilots.
Lady Cats goalie Emily Breaux was strong on the day, racking up 14 saves while facing 18 shots on goal.
The Wildcats’ goalies, seniors Joe Saverino and Anish Karsan, combined for 13 saves in their contest with Saverino stopping 12 shots and Karsan 1.
Both the men’s and women’s teams return to action on Oct. 9 with a visit to Hardin Simmons which will be followed by Oct. 10 road games at McMurry.
The soccer teams will return home on Oct. 15 for an evening doubleheader against Howard Payne. On that night, the women will play at 5 p.m. and the men 7 p.m.
