Lc men and women fall just short against ETBU
PINEVILLE - With just two games remaining in their regular seasons, the men's and women's soccer teams at LC showed Thursday that bright days might be ahead for both young squads. The men took East Texas Baptist to the brink before losing 4-2 while the women lost a hard-fought game 3-0.
In the men's game, freshman Steven Hurley scored an early goal on a Dakota Hill assist to give LC a 1-0 lead and fellow freshman Doug Jackson added a first-half penalty kick to make it 2-0 in favor of the Wildcats before East Texas closed the gap and walked away with the win.
Goalie Joe Saverino had 13 saves in the game.
In the women's game, the Lady Cats got another stellar performance from goalie Emily Breaux, who produced 16 saves.
Both the men and women will wrap up their seasons Saturday night at home against LeTourneau. The women will play at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 for senior night.
