Dr. Harold V. Knight joined the Louisiana College Wildcat football staff in 1958 and served the college in a variety of roles until leaving LC in 1963.

As Backfield Coach of the 1958 football team, Knight contributed to the development of one of the school's greatest football teams. This club won nine of 11 starts, including a Rice Bowl victory.

He also served as Head Basketball Coach in 1958 and was elevated to the post of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in 1959.

During his four years as football coach, Louisiana College teams registered an overall 27 won, 13 lost, 1 tie record - one of the best four-year records in the history of LC football. Knight experienced his best season in 1960 when his team turned in an 8-2 record.

Prior to joining the Wildcat staff, Knight coached at Greenwood High School and at Meridian High School, both in Mississippi. During his nine-year coaching career, he compiled at 70-19-1 record in high school and college.

In 1987, Knight received an "Outstanding Contribution to Louisiana College Athletics" plaque from the college.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Dr. Harold V. Knight into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 23, 1996.
