PANAMA CITY, Fla. – After an early-morning hiccup, the Lady Wildcats got back to the business of winning in convincing fashion at the NCAA Division III Leadoff Classic. After fighting for a tough, 11-8 win over Ramapo in the pool play finale, Louisiana College defeated Gustavus Adolphus 8-0 on the mercy rule in the quarterfinals of the Gold Championship Bracket.

CLINTON, Miss. – Louisiana College put up back-to-back valiant fights against No. 21 Mississippi College in a Saturday doubleheader but were unable to best the Choctaws in either contest, falling 3-0 and 7-6 and succumbing to a sweep in their first American Southwest Conference East Division series of 2010.

The Louisiana College softball team will get the chance to play for bog prize at the NCAA Leadoff Classic in Panama City, Fla., after a hard-fought, 11-8 win over Ramapo. LC, which went 3-0 in pool play, earned a spot in the Gold Bracket, where the six pool play champs and two at-large teams will face off for the Leadoff title, and will face Gustavus Adolphus, 2009 World Series participant, at 5 p.m. More on both the Ramapo and Gustavus Adolphus games to come.
